And you may find hidden relationships that surprise you.DiAnn Iamarino Ohamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17415937464194290775noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6078973036927209827.post-45755974078654854622019-11-02T13:53:13.055-04:002019-11-02T13:53:13.055-04:00I don't have any Italian ancestors, but have a...I don't have any Italian ancestors, but have a number of ancestors from very small English or Irish parishes. It's normal for me to dig through every page of the old parish registers [say in the 1700s] to find 'my' people. But of course I can also see the other families... never thought to see if I could make a full village from those registers. Hmmm, this idea could be useful - or at least a good challenge! I know I've gone away after a number of parish register searches thinking that maybe that person or that other one could be a sibling or other relative, cousin perhaps. Thanks for this brilliant idea!! I add anyone to my family tree with any type of family relationship, and my tree is public on Ancestry. Doing this helps me connect with DNA matches, and gives them one hell of a leg-up if their people are from my ancestral town. My town is small -- 2,000 people.DiAnn Iamarino Ohamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17415937464194290775noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6078973036927209827.post-32742099518333778302019-10-30T08:11:53.959-04:002019-10-30T08:11:53.959-04:00I'm worried about two things. 1) what copyrigh...I'm worried about two things. 1) what copyright laws restrict the usage of the records downloaded? If it's data mining, that's one thing but downloading all the images seems problematic

2. Where will all the information end up? I can see myself poking around at people in a small village or town. I can't see myself doing this for New York City. Even then, I would build the family trees in FamilySearch so others could benefit from the research. Is that what you'll do.
